This summer the RBIHF starts a specific development track for goaltenders. This to support our clubs for this unique and important on-ice position. The RBIHF wants to continue the program during next season and open all practices for youth club goalie coaches.
Spots are limited, to participate registration is required and can be done by CLICKING HERE or by visiting the RBIHF web shop under CAMPS. Goalie coaching is also one of the coaching streams during the HelloHockey BENELUX seminar in 25-26 June, and in September 2023 the RBIHF wants to introduce a NEW goalie-coaching Level during the yearly coaching clinic.
Goal is to increase awareness for Belgian goalie coaching in all our clubs and assist on recruitment and retention of new young goalies to further support our Belgian youth teams.
July 25, 2022 the RBIHF will kick-off the program at the Mechelen Ice rink, by organising 6 consecutive session for goaltenders born between 2014 & 2005. The program receives RBIHF financial support allowing goaltenders to participate all 6 sessions for only 75Euro.
Each practice will include 45min dryland and 1h30 ice time, on-ice practice will be in 6 stations with max 2-3 goalies per station spread over 2-age groups (goalies born 2014-2010 & 2009-2005).
The summer goalie program is supported by the RBIHF HelloPlayer program and is candidate to become part of the HelloPlayer player development structure
