RBIHF Ends Inline Hockey Activities Following IIHF Directive RBIHF Ends Inline Hockey Activities Following IIHF Directive

Bekkevoort, July 30, 2025 — Following a directive from the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) requiring all Member National Associations (MNAs) to govern only ice hockey under a single body, the Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation (RBIHF) has officially ended all inline hockey activities as of July 1, 2025. This decision brings the RBIHF into full compliance with IIHF governance standards and allows the Federation to fully dedicate its efforts to the development and promotion of ice hockey in Belgium.

All Belgian inline hockey clubs were informed in advance and have since taken steps to establish a new, independent organization that will manage the sport moving forward. While the RBIHF no longer oversees inline hockey, clubs remain active and a national championship will continue to be organized under the new structure. Players, coaches, and clubs can be reassured that the sport will remain alive and supported—just no longer within the RBIHF framework.

The RBIHF remains firmly committed to strengthening the future of ice hockey in Belgium, with continued investments in player development, coaching education, and competitive opportunities. We thank all members of both communities for their understanding and cooperation during this important structural shift.
