Every age group in youth hockey introduces new learning experience. In the development age groups U12 and younger only a limited number of playing rules apply. Maximum playing experience, skill and hockey sense development are key.

Once players become U14, and they start participating in the youth competition a whole set of new rules are introduced. With playing full ice hockey, offside, Icing, and penalties are introduced to the game. Knowing the basic rules of the game is essential it improves the quality of the game and regulates the game in many news ways.
To assist clubs and coaches in teaching U14 players this enhanced playing format, the RBIHF development team introduced the U14 playing rules introduction. This new course has been designed specifically for this age groups and aims to explain the basic playing rules of our full-ice game.

Over the past 2 months the course was already conducted in Liedekerke, Mechelen en Herentals. Now that the course is final and ready to be introduced in all clubs. This can be done upon simple request by the coach (rdp@rbihf.be).
This season the course on voluntary base and provided live at the club upon simple request. Over the next months the course will be transformed to an on-line self certification course and will become mandatory for all players participating to a competitive league.
