On Saturday, February 14, 2026, Herentals hosted the Frozen Female Final. In front of 375 spectators, an intense cup final was played between HYC Girls and Lady Sharks Mechelen.
Lady Sharks opened the scoring early, at 4:53, through captain Femke Bosmans, with assists from Anke Steeno and Jennifer Van Hootegem. HYC Girls responded strongly and equalized in the second period through Ans Van Hoof, assisted by Ajte Heyrman and Petra Horemans.
In the third period, Lady Sharks made the difference. Iasminne Maissa Simina scored the 1-2 on the power play, assisted by Lotte De Guchtenaere and Anke Steeno. Shortly before the end, Linnore Saunders secured the final score of 1-3, again with an assist from Anke Steeno.
It was a competitive and high quality final in which both teams gave their all. This Frozen Female Final also served as a strong promotion for women’s ice hockey in Belgium, highlighting the growing level and appeal of the competition.
