International U14 Development Games in Mechelen International U14 Development Games in Mechelen

Last weekend, national U14 development teams from England, Scotland and Norway gathered in Mechelen. The games supported the IIHF equipment managers training, offering participants valuable hands-on experience. Inspired by the IIHF development camp in Vierumaki, teams played simultaneous matches to simulate a real-life environment.

Each day featured two full games and joint development activities. Belgian youth referees received extra guidance from Frans Vanackeleyen and Frank Palmaerts. Two young referees from England and Scotland also joined, creating a rich learning atmosphere and helping certify Belgian officials before the new season.

The matches were close and exciting, with no game ending in more than a two-goal difference. On Sunday evening, all participants returned home satisfied and eager for more. The event was a great success and a promising start to the season.
