Applications are now open for our unique “Ice Hockey Equipment Manager” course. This three-day program combines theory and practice, giving you real experience behind the scenes of an ice hockey team.
To ensure personal guidance and hands-on learning, the number of participants is limited to just 8 places. Each participant will assist one of the four teams competing in Mechelen that weekend. You will help organize dressing rooms, sharpen skates, and manage the bench during games.
An equipment manager is responsible for all team gear: sticks, skates, pads, helmets, and jerseys. You track inventory, order supplies, and customize equipment to match player preferences. Daily maintenance is key—sharpening skates, repairing damaged gear, and washing uniforms and towels.
Before each training or game, you prepare the locker room and bench area. After the game, you collect and clean all equipment. When traveling, you pack and transport gear and prepare for emergencies.
During games and practices, you offer quick support for gear issues and adjust equipment for comfort. You work closely with players and coaches. You also manage budgets, keep records, and ensure everything meets safety standards.
This course is perfect for anyone who wants to become an equipment manager, for volunteers looking to expand their skills, or for coaches and staff who want to better understand gear management.
