Last Saturday, December 10, our senior National women's team played a first exhibition game in Mechelen against the u18 National women's team of the Netherlands. The Belgian ladies kicked off the game hard, with already a first goal after 49 seconds following the initial face-off. Despite some powerplay situations and chances on both sides, no more goals were scored until mid-3rd period.
About 100 visitors in the stands enjoyed an exciting game where both teams fought for every puck and the goalkeepers defended the net with a lot of effort. Halfway through the 3rd period, Femke Bosmans scored her second goal. At the end, the final goal was scored shorthanded, this time it was Louise Paulissen who put the puck behind the Dutch netminder. Final score 3-0
We thank our Dutch guests for this exciding game. There will certainly be more duels in the coming years.
