Johan was always ready to help in any way, shape or form and was always welcomed in Spain as he was also part of our Coaching Clinics. He will surely be missed by all our IIHF Hockey Family and his friends and its ashame that we could not share more time with him to discuss many issues that he was willing to give his opinions if it concerned hockey in general....We all miss him already and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends!

Johan was my supervisor during my doctoral six-month internship in ice hockey club in Mechelen. I am really thankfull for his quidance and everything he did for me.
Thank you Johan. I will never forget your support and kindness.

Johan's impact truly extends across the entire world. I had a unique opportunity to travel most of the hockey world, and meet those that led programs and initiatives in their countries, and very few stand out the way Johan did. He was an incredible mentor for the hockey world, a great friend, and an incredibly proud father. My sincerest condolences to the family.
