RBIHF Video Coach Course
The RBIHF Video Coach Course is intended for people who want to support coaches and players through effective video analysis. Participants will learn how to select, organise and present relevant game footage so that video becomes a practical development tool for both the coaching staff and the team.
The course will take place in Mechelen from Wednesday 26 August until Sunday 30 August 2026. Sessions begin each morning at 09:30. From Wednesday to Saturday, the programme continues until the end of the final game of the day, generally between 18:00 and 20:00. The course concludes on Sunday around noon.
Combining classroom education with practical experience
The programme combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on training. During the classroom sessions, participants will be introduced to the responsibilities and daily workflow of a video coach.
The Sportway video-coaching platform will be demonstrated and explained, including the process of identifying important moments, cutting video clips, organising footage and preparing material for coaches and players.
Topics covered will include:
- The role and responsibilities of a video coach
- Working with the Sportway video-coaching platform
- Identifying relevant tactical and technical situations
- Cutting, organising and labelling video clips
- Preparing video material for coaches and players
- Communicating and meeting with the coaching staff
- Preparing daily video-analysis sessions
- Presenting useful feedback to the staff and/or the team
- Work with a team in a real development environment
The course takes place alongside the Nations Development programme in Mechelen. Participants will be divided among the five participating teams and become part of their staff during the event.
Using footage from the actual development games, each participant will work on real situations and practical assignments. They will select and prepare clips, provide relevant footage to the coaching staff and discuss which situations should be reviewed.
Participants will also help prepare a daily video-coaching session together with the coaching staff. Depending on the needs of the team, these sessions may be organised for the staff, individual players or the entire team.
This practical approach gives every participant the opportunity to experience the real workflow of a video coach during an international development event.
