In Memoriam of Johan Bollue

The Board of Directors inform you with sadness, as with gratitude for what he has meant for our Ice Hockey Sport in Belgium and far beyond national boarders, the passing of Johan Bollue.

Almost 15 years Johan was a very committed Board Member, valued colleague, and dear friend.

Our thoughts and support go out to his wife, children, family, and friends. Additional information concerning the funeral will be shared at a later moment in consultation with the family.

I was deeply saddened to receive the news of Johan’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Johan on a number of IIHF Development initiatives as well as our time together on IIHF committees. It was such a pleasure to work along side Johan and to see his passion for developing people in ice hockey. He was such an inspiration in the way that he approached every task and there are some many people from so many federations that benefited for his infectiously positive approach to their growth. The hockey community was enriched by Johan’s leadership.

De impact die je daar had is zeker voelbaar, en zal zo blijven.

Nos sincères condoléances à la famille. la fédération, les joueurs et tous les amoureux du hockey sur glace devront vivre sans tes conseils, ta vision de notre sport et surtout sans ta chaleur humaine et ton amitié. To all Youth Hockey Fans

My deepest Condolences to the Family-Members.
We all lost a wonderful person and a passioned hockey friend, we realize even more the moment Johan took another way than we expected. Johan was more than a hockey guy to me, i felt touched of his heart for kids and ours sports. He put so much energy in good things and I’m with all of you, a good friend. My great respect to him, sad and i will miss him, but full of good memories. I was privileged to know him and spent time with him. Tanks Johan

Heel veel sterkte aan familie en vrienden!

Ik zal Johan altijd herinneren als de man die mij als kleine jongen leerde schaatsen en ijshockey spelen. Een immer vriendelijke en nuchtere man met een warme persoonlijkheid, die enorm goed met kinderen kon omgaan!
