RBIHF Equipment Manager Course
The RBIHF Equipment Manager Course is intended for people who want to support an ice hockey team throughout the season by taking responsibility for its equipment and dressing-room operations.
The course will take place in Mechelen
WED 18:30 - 21:30 Theoretical session.
THU 09:00 - 19:00 Practical hands on sessions + Theoretical
FRI 09:00 - 19:00 Practical hands on sessions + Theoretical
SAT 09:00 - 19:00 Practical hands on sessions + Theoretical
SUN 09:00 - 14:00 Practical hands on sessions + Theoretical.
Practical, hands-on education
The course will be delivered by an experienced IIHF instructor and will focus primarily on practical training. Classroom sessions will be kept to a minimum, allowing participants to spend as much time as possible developing the skills required in a real team environment.
Topics covered will include:
- Skate maintenance and skate sharpening
- Riveting and basic skate repairs
- Repair and maintenance of player equipment
- Preparing and organising team equipment
- Dressing-room management
- Supporting players and coaches during practices and games
- The general responsibilities of an equipment manager throughout the season
- All tools, equipment and materials required during the course will be provided by the RBIHF.
Real experience within a team
The course takes place alongside the Nations Development programme in Mechelen. Each participant will be assigned to one of the five participating teams and will work as part of that team’s staff during the event.
This provides a valuable opportunity to immediately apply the skills covered during the course and gain genuine hands-on experience as an equipment manager during practices, games and daily team operations.
The course price includes:
- Instruction by an IIHF instructor
