On September 14th, 167 players from the U14 and U16 categories gathered in Mechelen for the evaluation day, marking the start of this season's talent pool. All Belgian ice hockey clubs had the opportunity to select some of their best players to participate in the evaluation day in Mechelen.

The RBIHF's Talent Pool program aims to identify young and talented hockey players in the country and monitor their individual progress and development in cooperation with their home clubs and coaches. The group will be narrowed down to 40 players and 4 goalies per age group.

Today marks an important day for Belgian ice hockey as 73 coaches have begun their certification journey during the Coach Weekend in Mechelen. This annual event, organized by the Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation (RBIHF), attracts more participants each year. During the Coach Weekend, four different training programs were offered: Coach Level 1, Coach Level 2, Learn to Play (LTP), and Goalie Coach Level 1.
